Hanahato Kijoshu Aged 8 Years 500ml
This 8+ year aged kijoushu by Enoki Shuzo is reminiscent of a fine Oloroso sherry. Intense aromas of molasses, beef broth, tobacco, dried fruits, honey and pickles. The palate is a wild sweet/sour/savoury rollercoaster ride of toffee apple, honey, coffee, toasted hazelnuts and umami. Drink well chilled. A very divisive sake that is an excellent IWC multi award winning example of this style.
Sweet pairings: dark chocolate, chocolate cake, over icecream.
Savoury pairings: cheese, steak, tempura, rich dishes.
