Kaze No Mori Alpha 8 500ml
Brewer Yoshi Yamamoto of Yucho Shuzo is pure genius. We have tried a few dozen genmai sake (unmilled brown rice) over the years and this is by far the best we have tasted. Instead of steaming the kakemai (brewing rice) it has been roasted bringing out the very unique natural flavour and aroma of Akitsuho rice that only Yucho Shuzo can deliver.
First thing you will notice is the inviting golden hue. This is a sake to sip and contemplate but first take some time to enjoy the aromas of genmaicha, apple and beeswax.
The palate is rich yet refreshing like a good semi-sweet dessert wine or barrel aged cider. There is a symphony of flavours like pink lady apple, caramelised toffee, juicy grapefruit, acacia honey with a hint of roasted rice, tannin and a very pleasant lingering finish.
A perfect sake for after dinner. Explore this sake over a range of temperatures and enjoy its multi-faceted character.
Note - Genmai sake is made from brown rice that is unmilled or unpolished, hence the seimaibuai is 100%.
