Ontanosato Touki Mugi Shochu 720ml
The enjoyment of this mugi shochu starts before even tasting as you pull the cork out of the Minoyaki bottle. This is a single distilled shochu is made with only the best barley sourced from the pristine Tasmanian environment. The nose is a combination of caramelized barley and vanilla. When served straight up there is a creamy mouthfeel of savoury n' sweet barley with undertones of white pepper. The finish is short and clean but very morish as you reach for "just one more glass". Adding a little ice lightens the palate and makes it a very gluggable drink but loses the nuances of this shochu.
Whisky drinkers will appreciate the attention to detail in this premium spirit that is sold in its original form without the added flavour of toast or oak. Most importantly at 25% ABV you can enjoy twice the amount of whisky.
The natural clay bottle is designed as a vessel to age shochu and encourages a deeper more mellow flavour.
There is only a small allocation of this shochu so we recommend you order early!
