Hanahato Kimoto Junmai Ginjo 720ml
The nose is subtle candy orange, almond and butter, slightly richer, deeper aromas than you would expect from a Ginjo. There is a certain richness on the palate as you would expect from Genshu (undiluted sake) with characteristics of pear, peach, apple, orange peel, mandarin with the slight bitterness of brazil nut skins and a little astringency. The finish is punctuated with high acid as would be expected from Kimoto.
Temperature can be a very important factor in the proper enjoyment of sake. When you see the word Ginjo on a bottle this generally means it will drink well at cooler temperatures. If you spot the word Kimoto this can be an indication that a warmer serving temperature might be better. In this case, the Hanahato Kimoto Junmai Ginjo hits the mark from about 10-20C.
