This maverick brewer was a former rock band manager and took over his father's sake brewery in Akita prefecture in 2007. Yamamoto san takes inspiration from the wine world to create sake that will intrigue both wine and sake lovers.
Yamamoto's style is refreshing and modern. He has a huge following both locally in Japan and overseas.
Since taking over the brewery, they produce three times more sake than before he started and their sake is always sold out well before the end of the brewery year.
This is a rare opportunity to taste a selection of Yamamoto's seasonal sake side by side. Also taste his infamous Night Traveller Gin made with 30 different botanicals.
